1000 lbf LRE Project - Start of Project - 06/27/2021

So the summer has come (and partially gone but I guess that's how time works) and I've condensed my project list down to a manageable level. One project I've decided to work as a "slow-burner" is a Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine (LRE) in the  ~1000 lbf regime. Having worked on LRE's in college on a few research contracts as well as during internships I'm hoping this allows me to have a full-hands on design experience at a scale that is useful but also manageable.

Currently trading Liquid Oxygen and Kerosene or 95% Ethanol/Water as oxidizer and fuel. Likely sticking with a relatively simple film cooled chamber with limited burn durations.

Whether advisable or not (given I haven't really designed the thing yet) I've already purchased main valves for the project as a formerly loved "Propellant Priming Valve" from sometime in the 60's. Working to rebuild this valve-set for use will be part of this journey.

Hopefully I'll be setting aside time on the weekends to work my projects and this will get updates every week or two.
